Why it says projected.
Bonuses stay projected until the branch cutoff passes, because a reopened job or a late expense recalculates the math. After cutoff, they are final.
That distinction is the whole point. A tech who sees projected knows the number can still move. A tech who sees final knows it will not.
A number that can quietly change is worse than no number. So the wallet says which one it is.
Managers see the branch. Techs see themselves.
Managers filter the wallet across their crew to spot which jobs went over. A negative entry is a flag on the job, not a punishment ritual, and it is tracked honestly in the same ledger as the payouts.
What techs ask about the wallet.
- When does the money appear?
- On job close, immediately. The share lands in the wallet the moment the work order is finished, not at month end.
- How is my share computed?
- Proportional to your hours on the job. Three crew members on the same job get three different shares. See the formula page for the math.
- Can it go negative?
- Yes. When actual hours beat the estimate the wrong way, a negative entry shows in the same ledger, with the job attached.
- Who sees my wallet?
- You, and the managers of your branch. Other techs see rankings, never your dollar amounts.
